On the same night his wife gives birth to their fist son, Triad mob boss Hung (Andy Lau) learns that an assassin plans to kill him within the next 12-hours. Encouraged to leave town by his best friend Lefty (Jacky Cheung) and three untrustworthy lieutenants, Hung decides to stay and makes plans to protect himself and his family.
